Manistee, MI, Jul. 26, 19 – The Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts (RRCA) production of The Foreigner, written by Larry Shue, opened yesterday to a hysterical audience. Rick Plummer, the director of the show, said “the actors had an exceptionally great opening delivering comic punches as audiences have seldom seen before! As predicted, the audience recognized from the opening scene, that they were in good hands.”
The production is in two acts and is set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by “Froggy” LeSueur, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time “Froggy” has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. So “Froggy,” before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. And so, the hilarity ensues.
You can see this production on Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27 at 7:30 PM or on Sunday, July 28 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are available on the 1st street entrance of the Ramsdell Theatre, or order online at MyNorthTickets.com, or call the Ramsdell at 231-398-9770.
