GISELLE – JULY 19 AT 1:00 PM
ACT I
Giselle, a young peasant girl, is madly in love with Loys who swore his love in return. Gamekeeper Hans, himself infatuated with Giselle, discovers Loys is not the simple village boy he pretends to be, but in fact the rich count Albrecht already engaged to the noble Bathilde. Hans confronts Albrecht in front of the entire village. Utterly upset by this betrayal, Giselle goes mad and dies from sadness.
ACT II
Midnight strikes. Giselle is among the Wilis, vengeful spirits of disillusioned brides who condemn men to dance to death. They appear and attack Hans, who dies of exhaustion. Albrecht has come to pray at Giselle’s tomb. Giselle begs the Willis to spare him, but the Wilis are not willing to let him go. Fortunately, the morning clock breaks the spell, Albrecht is saved…
SWAN LAKE – JULY 26 AT 1:00 PM
ACT I
Prince Siegfried is knighted for his birthday. As the celebrations end, he is guided to a lake by a shadow, the Evil Genius. He meets Odette, white swan by day and woman by night under a curse cast by the Evil Genius. Only true love can remedy her fate, Siegfried swears eternal love to her.
ACT II
Siegfried’s mother introduces princesses coming from all over the world. However, Siegfried cannot get Odette off his mind. The Evil Genius suddenly arrives with Odile the black swan, Odette’s doppelganger. Siegfried is fooled by her appearance and takes Odile for wife. In the distance, Odette the white swan appears. As he realizes his mistake, Siegfried rushes to the lake…
