SUMMARY:MET Opera-I PURITANI (Bellini)
DESCRIPTION:For gorgeous melody\, spellbinding coloratura\, and virtuoso vocal fireworks\, I Puritani has few equals. On New Year’s Eve\, the curtain goes up on the first new Met production of Bellini’s final masterpiece in nearly 50 years—a striking staging by Charles Edwards\, who makes his company directorial debut after many successes as a set designer. The Met has assembled a world-beating quartet of stars\, conducted by Marco Armiliato\, for the demanding principal roles. Soprano Lisette Oropesa and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are Elvira and Arturo\, brought together by love and torn apart by the political rifts of the English Civil War\, with baritone Artur Ruciński as Riccardo\, betrothed to Elvira against her will\, and bass-baritone Christian Van Horn as Elvira’s sympathetic uncle\, Giorgio.

SUMMARY:Art is Love\, Actually-Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Calling All Artists \n \nWhat is Art? \nAn expression of emotion? A touch of charcoal on paper? A blob of clay that transforms into an object of purpose or just desire? A splash of paint\, a woven string\, a clutch of cloth that provides a means to tell a story? Something we create simply because we need to create-to connect\, to show what we see or feel in our heart? \nThe very act of creating can be so personal that it feels like a love letter. \nArt is Love\, Actually \nJoin us in our community art event showing your love of art. All mediums will be accepted. Any one dimension cannot exceed 36”. The art committee reserves the right to deny offensive or inappropriate material. You can enter up to 3 pieces. 30% of the value will be retained by the RRCA to further exhibits and programming at The Ramsdell Theater and Hardy Hall. Art submissions due 1/26-27. \nSo tell us-who (or what) do you love?

SUMMARY:Outlaw Apostles 2026
DESCRIPTION:There’s somethin’ in the water down on the banks of the Tennessee river. Literally thousands of hit records and songs have been written and/or recorded in muscle shoals Alabama. And out of that time honored tradition of musical excellence comes a brand new group of guys ready to make their mark. Outlaw Apostles is a group of young hungry up and comers \, all from in and around muscle shoals. Bay Simpson\, Evan Lane and Christian White are all young yet seasoned veterans around the muscle shoals music scene. They formed in November 2018 with a mission to bring real songs played by real musicians singin’ real three and four part harmony back to the forefront of modern music. They quickly came to the attention of legendary record producer Keith Stegall who assembled a group of writers to woodshed with the band to stockpile songs and help hone the sound.
